Livestock for Life
RI builds awareness among the population about communicable diseases to improve the health and hygiene conditions of people living with livestock in the project area via school health club and committees advancement. It also trains Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs) and strengthens their partnership with government department. The organization delivers basic and refresher CAHWs training on basic animal care, including disease diagnosis and disease reporting and training for grass-roots health workers – both human and animal – on zoonosis prevention, diagnosis, surveillance, and reporting. By providing locals with livestock health opportunities, RI ensures food security in Sudan.
