Integrated Drought Response in Sool, Somaliland

This emergency response will improve access to food for 280 households in the Sool Region severely affected by drought conditions through cash transfers for five months. In Somaliland, where food consumption is deteriorating generally, Sool region is among the worst affected – a majority of households do not have the resources to meet the minimum expenditure basket (MEB) recommended by the food security and Livelihoods (FSL) cluster. The project aims to ensure stability in food security of drought-affected individuals, therefore water will be trucked to ensure these households have access to water for 90 days. Additional nutritional support will be provided to children under 36 months.
