Improving Food Access in Drought-Stricken Somaliland

The project will improve access to food for 850 households of Sanaag and Saaxil Region severely affected by drought conditions through cash transfers for five months. While food consumption is deteriorating generally across the country, in these specific market areas, families do not have the resources to meet the minimum nutrition recommended by established guidelines. Vulnerable households will receive cash transfers of USD $70 per month for 4 months to pay for 35% of the family food needs.
